My skills were best served in the application of the experience. It’s one thing to design on a computer, it’s another to actually go and make real what was only an idea on whiteboard.

An issue designers found at Anderson University was how despite the abundance of Southern hospitality and goodwill, students were so busy with their own lives and work, they often failed to find time to connect with each other. That was the starting idea behind The Conversation House. A relaxing place where students from all majors can chat and just breathe.
The first major hurdle was figuring out what type of experience this would be. I offered that if the entire intention was to have people come and chat, why not revolve the experience around the steps of a conversation.
